Swim lessons for babies and kids in KL

Swimming is not just a fun sport, it is a life-saving skill. Especially here in the tropics, where many families live near swimming pools and holiday by the ocean or rivers, teaching kids to swim as early as possible is a good idea. We’ve put together a list of swim lessons and swimming teachers in KL – hope you’ll find one that is near you in this list. We have not tried out all these service providers, so contact them directly and choose the one that suits your criteria.

Swim lessons for babies and toddlers

Babies retain their dive reflex up until about 6 months: this stops water getting into their lungs. Many believe this is why you should start them early with swimming lessons – this of course doesn’t mean swimming as such, but has maybe more to do with being comfortable in and around water, and building a base for simple water safety awareness.

Swimming classes for older kids

Once past toddlerhood, children are ready for some more structures swimming classes to help them become safe and strong swimmers. Typically it is recommended that swimming lessons are introduced around the ages of 4-5. Remember that it is always a good idea to stay by the pool during swimming lessons if your child doesn’t yet know how to swim.
