Does the mention of slow roasted Wagyu beef leg, red coated freshwater prawns or a collection of Christmas cookies make your mouth water? You may want to consider heading to the Makan Kitchen restaurant at DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur this festive period.
In the run up to Christmas, Makan Kitchen in DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur at the heart of KL city centre, is offering a high tea buffet in the afternoon and a festive dinner buffet in the evening.
There really is something for all the family. For the adults there is a huge selection of fine foods. Everything from the traditional Christmas dinner to a selection of seafood and even a collection of curries.
The children will need to be prepared to make some tough choices between the chocolate fountain, ice cream bar, cookies and cakes, as well as ais kacang. Top tip: the shaved ice machine is very noisy! If you don’t want to draw attention to yourself, like I did, when I was desperately trying to turn it off, then stick to the much quieter chocolate fountain.
What you need to know about the evening buffet
The festive dinner buffet at DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur is on offer from now until 22 December 2023, doors are open from 6.30pm to 10pm. The buffet is priced at RM168 per adult and RM84 per child.
If you are worried your young children won’t get your monies worth, the good news is that kids until the age of 6 eat for free. And trust me if your child is 6 to 12 years of age, they will eat their body weight in desserts alone. I had to make a deal with my daughter about how much ‘proper’ food needed to be eaten before she was unleashed on the selection of desserts.
Fancy a high tea buffet instead?
The weekend before Christmas, on 16 and 17 December from 12.30pm till 4pm a high tea buffet will be available at Makan Kitchen. It is priced at RM148 per adult and RM74 per child. And between 23 – 25 December they will be serving one at the same time, but for RM168 per adult and RM84 per child. The buffet over the Christmas weekend will have some special activities on offer to keep the kids entertained and to let you enjoy your second and third helping of Christmas cake in peace.
A special guest appearance at DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur
The dinner buffet at Makan Kitchen will be on offer from 23 – 25 December from 6.30pm – 10pm. Santa will be stopping by to say hi! The meal will cost RM198 per adult and RM99 per child, but the look of the kids faces will be priceless. Make memories at Makan Kitchen this Christmas…
