This Christmas is going to be extra special… It will be the first time after a very long lockdown that we are able to celebrate again! The Resort Café at Sunway Resort is just the perfect place for a magical wonderland of gastronomical delights.
Let’s dive into a sea of epicurean spread, savouring every moment of our long-awaited freedom from the countless movement restriction measures. We certainly deserve to be pampered to the hilt!
Magical Christmas Village
Stepping into The Resort Café is like being transported into a Magical Christmas Village, with the dazzling display of Yuletide decor to set the mood for a very special Christmas. It starts with a German market place at the entrance, with quaint German wooden huts filled with assortments of German delicacies like pretzels and brötchens, Christmas cakes, cookies and chocolates.
A sumptuous Christmas spread
The Christmas buffet spread features a beautiful seafood bar with fresh hauls of prawns, oysters, yabbies and mussels to tease the palates of seafood lovers. Being an occasional seafood eater, I found myself enjoying the seafood spread, which was delightfully fresh and scrumptious.
Next is the carving station offering traditional as well as modern roasts like leg of lamb, herbed sirloin, beef and glazed turkey, along with a concomitant of sauces and stuffings. My husband enjoyed these very much!
Next stations feature a Chinese cuisine of lok-lok and dim sum, and Malay cuisine of various kinds of nasi (rice) and kari (curry). We loved the Kari Kapitan which was aromatic and richly spiced, created by Chef Jasper Chow himself, who is responsible for the entire festive fare. His talent in molecular cuisine, especially his specialty in French fine dining, certainly adds flavour to the entire Christmas buffet.
Not to be missed is the dessert station laden with pretty Christmas goodies like mince pies, panettone, English fruit cakes, chocolate Yule log cakes, pralines and more… Oh, and they have a really tall chocolate fountain to top it all. Decadently satisfying.
A 5 stars rating!
We had a truly wonderful time and enjoyed being pampered by all the wonderful chefs and staff, who are so professional and passionate in their work. We also ordered the free-flow of wine, which really added to our enjoyment of this fine-dining experience. We happily give them a 5 stars rating.
