Calling all meat lovers: how about a BBQ meal with a view? The Texas BBQ in Publika, Solaris Dutamas is a new restaurant in Publika.
To get the real taste of a Texas meal we were invited to try the smoked meat concept at the recently opened restaurant The Texas BBQ. The restaurant occupies a large space on the second floor of Publika. Besides the spacious indoor area, there’s also an outdoor space with a privileged view of KL and the Petronas Twin Towers. The detailed Texas-style decoration immediately caught our attention as we arrived and for sure adds to the ambiance. The staff was very welcoming and friendly and always available to help. Mr. Jean, the owner, explained to us about the long process to smoke the meats to perfection.
It’s getting smokey…
We didn’t try the entrees but for our mains we had the restaurant’s specialty: the smoked meat combo for two with brisket, pulled lamb, beef short ribs and chicken. As side dishes, we had homemade mashed potatoes, baked beans and coleslaw. The portions were enough for two adults, but not too much to feel too full. The kids tried the smoked chicken and beef mini burgers with homemade fries, one of the options on the kids’ menu. Our favourite meat was the smoked brisket, which was very tender and really delicious. The restaurant also has two special homemade sauces, for those who look for additional flavour to their food.
For little cowboys and cowgirls
We had a pleasant dinner at ‘The Texas BBQ’, enjoying the view of KL at night. We would recommend the restaurant for families with younger kids, as the kids will definitely love the very unique cowboy hats for every child who colours the kids’ menu page and displays it at the ‘Texas Rangers Kids Board’. The most beautiful drawings get the chance to win a free kids’ meal! New grilled meal options will be soon added to their menu.
