Rise and grind, it’s coffee time in Damansara Heights

cafes in TTDI

If anything gets me going, it’s coffee. There’s nothing quite like the robust aroma and rich flavour of a well-brewed cup of coffee. For me, a good shot (or two, preferably) of caffeine is not just a morning ritual, but the essential fuel to keep me energised for the rest of the day.

Life’s too short to drink bad coffee… So why not drink it where they brew it best!? With this in mind, let us take you to a few great places in Damansara Heights where they serve Coffee, with a capital C.

Char Line

A popular spot especially amongst those who prefer to move by bike, this place has got a cozy terracotta tiled space both in and outside. We love their small hedge-brimmed terrace on the side of the café, which is a great spot to start the day, with a freshly brewed coffee. Do try their gula melaka latte, combined with the French toast. Char Line opens nice and early at 7.30am.

If parking in front of the café is not available, just head into the large Plaza Damansara car park next door, where spots are guaranteed.

The Bread Shop

Tucked away in a hidden corner in Damansara Heights, the sweet scent of bread and coffee coming out of The Bread Shop is overwhelmingly good. Even with your eyes closed, you will be able to find this café. You can opt to sit indoors in the air-conditioned space where you can watch the bakers work their craft, or outdoors, where a few tables grace the sidewalk.

Takeaway tip: their hot cross buns are delicious and will be an exquisite addition to your Easter brunch table spread!

Huckleberry

A local artisan bread shop that brags on their website about having the best chocolate cake in town… That always makes me suspicious but, in this case, yes hands down Huckleberry does serve amazing chocolate cake. Trust me, I have done my research around town. And if there is anything that goes well with cake, it is coffee of course.

With another superb café nearby in Bangsar Shopping Centre, selecting the perfect spot to savour your coffee can be quite a challenge. I always choose the outlet in Damansara Heights though, for their cozy and quiet indoor and outdoor setting and great service. Do have a look at their beautiful cakes displayed inside as well. Open from 7.30 till 10.30.

Little Cup

The name says it all: this is a tiny place indeed! Welcome, dear coffee-loving community, to this small space with great coffee. If you’re familiar with Plaza Batai, you know that you can do your supermarket shopping in the row behind. Parking at Plaza Batai is never an issue.

Little Cup is the new kid to the block – they recently opened in November last year – but they already managed to create a name for themselves, and the shop is always packed!
