Where to find the best coffee in town? It’s hard to say. For us Happy Go KL Mamas and Papa, it is not just about the coffee beans… it’s about price, variety of coffees (and teas), atmosphere and service as well. Let’s bring it on: here is our list of favourite coffee shops in and around KL.
1. Kenny Hills Bakers, Bukit Tunku
With a spacious yet cozy covered back yard, we like this place for its service, the ambiance, and their peach strudels. Of course, their cappuccinos are superb. We favour those with soy milk. Although it is not the cheapest in town (RM18 for a soy cappuccino, before tax), it is a truly delicious treat. Open daily from 8am – 10pm.
Lot B-2, Taman Tunku, off Jalan Langgak Tunku, Bukit Tunku
2. Breakfast Thieves, Bangsar
Feel like having a coffee in a greenhouse-like café? Time to visit Breakfast Thieves in Bangsar! We love their breakfast options, being western meals with an Asian twist. All goes perfectly well with their coffees, served in big, beautiful mugs. Open Tuesday till Sunday from 9am till 5pm, closed on Mondays.
Lot M, 29-5, Jalan Riong, Bangsar
3. Plan B, Publika
We love the coffee with soy milk in Plan B in Publika. Service can be a bit slow outside, but you won’t have any issues when you sit indoors. Rich, flavourful, strong coffees, that go well together with their lovely sweet bites, like the Salted Caramel Macadamia Cheese cake. Open daily from 11am till 10pm.
Lot No.65, Level G2, Publika Solaris Dutamas, No. 1, Jln Dutamas 1, Kuala Lumpur
4. Momaku x Baristart Coffee Malaysia, Bangsar
Conveniently located on the ground floor, this place could be described as an artisanal market space meets Japanese concept café. They use milk from Hokkaido Biei Jersey Milk, which makes their mochas extra creamy. Opening hours 8am till 10pm.

5. Bean Brothers, Ampang
Ambiance is everything, but on top of that, the coffees are fabulous. They also sell their delicious coffee beans here in bags, for you to take home. Open from 8.30am till 8pm. Kitchen closes at 5pm.
