A quality ‘me time’ massage at a HealthLand Wellness Family Centre

I think I have finally found the perfect job for me, and if such a thing exists, I could excel at being a ‘Massage Reviewer.’ This flash of inspiration came to me when I was recently asked to visit a HealthLand Wellness Centre to try and then review a VIP, two hour long, full body massage.

It would have been rude to say no, so I visited the HealthLand website, to choose a location near me and book an appointment. The centres are conveniently located in and around KL, but can also be found in Melaka and Penang, if you fancy treating yourself while you’re on holiday.

I decided to try the HealthLand Wellness Centre that was closer to home and is based in Plaza Arkadia, Desa ParkCity. The first impressions were good as it is tucked away at the end of a street, so it’s away from all the bars, restaurants, coffee shops and incredibly well-groomed dogs that the area is famous for.

A warm welcome at HealthLand

massage

The reception area is light and bright and the team working there were very welcoming. It also had the compulsory smell of lovely lemongrass, that transports you directly to Thailand. Before the masseuse got her hands on me, I took a quick tour of the facilities on offer in this two-storey haven. I was impressed by one of the largest foot massage rooms I have ever seen, it had enough seating to cater for 16 people or 32 feet at a time, but there were also smaller rooms if that’s what you’re looking for.

I liked the fact that they seem to cater to everyone with a lady only section, couples’ rooms and even a unisex area all decorated tastefully using Thai inspired fabrics and furniture.

After my tour, a foot wash and being shown to my private room I was ready for my 2 hours massage to begin. The masseuse used her expertly trained arms, thumbs, and massage oil to manipulate and manuevere my body. It was like a very lazy Pilates class in which your body gets all the benefits, but you don’t have to move a muscle as they are all moved for you.

It felt wonderful. I would highly recommend doing some of your own research and experience for yourself first-hand what the HealthLand Wellness Centres have to offer. You can book online here.

A top parenting hack

If you are wondering when you can spare time for this treat, I will share a top parenting hack with you. Always be the one to volunteer to drop the kids off at playdates and parties and then book yourself an appointment while you have to hang around for them to be picked up. It’s a win-win situation: you get parenting points for dropping the kids off and bag a little guilt free much needed ‘me time’ while you’re at it!
