It’s Christmas at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur

Every year since the soon-to-be-teen was born, we’ve been making trips to Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, to soak up its Christmas atmosphere. Pre-MCO times, we also headed there annually, to get our family picture taken with Santa.

We find that there’s no other place that puts up a festive display like Pavilion Kuala Lumpur (“Go big, or go home” comes to mind). And for me personally, the bigger the better, when it comes to Christmas!

A truly Mystical Christmas

This year’s theme at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur is ‘Mystical Christmas’, centered around mystical fairies. That’s not to say that you won’t see snowmen or reindeers (they are there aplenty!). If you’re a regular at Pavilion, you’d know by now that the place to head to is Centre Court. This is the main area where you get to soak up the decorations and to shop at the specialty stalls which are limited in number this year though. In Christmases past, there were train rides and even a mini ferris-wheel ridel! With the new normal, perhaps it’s not doable.

Yet, there’s nothing like standing there and staring up at the Christmas trees. I’m told they’re 30-foot in height and I’ll take their word for it. Since I’m um….‘vertically challenged’, everything seems too high for me! Taking a selfie or a wefie featuring the entire tree is a feat that alas, I’ve not even come close to mastering. I’m happy just having part of the tree as my backdrop!

Don’t miss out on the goodies!

This year, Coach has put up ‘Give A Little Love’ Bespoke Holiday Installation at the main entrance to the mall. This features numerous animals along a snowy landscape around Pavilion Crystal Fountain, leading to the front of the Coach store. You can also catch Rexy, Coach’s mascot on the LED screen by the Main Entrance. It will also be hard to miss the 40-foot tall Christmas tree and Coach Holiday Polar Bear!

If you need a shot of java – who doesn’t nowadays?! – Nespresso has a holiday pop-up at Connection. Stop by to experience their ‘Gifts of the Forest’ festive edition.

For Maybank card holders, every RM500 spent with your Maybank card entitles you to a Pyrex pie plate while with every RM1,000 spent with your Maybank card entitles you to redeem a Corelle serving plate. And if you’re really shopping up a storm (hey, it is the festive season), with every RM5,000 spent you will be gifted a Coach wristlet. More info here.

At the time of writing, the list of activities (carollers, Santa meet and greet, etc) have not been announced. Check their FB page here for updates. ‘Mystical Christmas’ will be decorating Pavilion KL’s Centre Court till 2 January 2022.
