Whether you consider yourself a bit of a Lewis Hamilton when on the highway or prefer life in the slow lane, you may equally enjoy a go at carting at the Aylezo Speedzone, based in Shah Alam.
The race package
My son and his friends opted for the race package that involved 10 minutes of practice, followed by a 15 laps sprint race and ending in a 20 laps endurance race at Aylezo Speedzone. This package costs MYR 175 per person. The minimum number in your group needs to be five. We arrived about 10.30am and were all done and dusted, including a medal presentation, by around 12 noon.
The race package is ideal for those that have never done it before or are at a similar level. It is a great activity for a group of family or friends or even as a company team building activity. You don’t even need to have a driving licence!
If you are particularly competitive, prefer to learn at your own pace or are just a very bad loser, you could give it a go before you take part in a race and just not tell anyone. Cheaper and shorter alternatives are available to the race package.
Good for younger kids
One session lasting 10 minutes at Aylezo Speedzone costs MYR 50 per person, or if someone would like to be chauffeur driven around the track, two seater go carts are on offer for MYR 60 per cart. This could be a good idea for younger children under the age of 9, who might struggle to control the cart, as you have to be reasonably strong. However, this would not be great for someone for example like my mother in law, who is a very nervous passenger or for control freaks. The other option is paying MYR 130 for three 10-minute sessions, but this cannot be split between a group.
Pretty good food at Tasteless
Once you’ve finished you can head to the Tasteless café that they have on site at Aylezo Speedzone – I am not being rude about its food, that is just what it’s called. The food was actually pretty good, especially if you like cheese. I have to admit I had a bit of food envy when the chicken rice and salted caramel milkshake appeared for someone else.
Even if you don’t want to take part, it’s fun to watch from the café and if you do want a go, all you need to bring along is yourself in comfortable clothes including trainers. The go cart, fuel and a helmet are all included in the price.
Where to find Aylezo Speedzone?
Aylezo Speedzone can be found at Putra Park (formerly known as Batu 3 / 3 Stone Park) Lot PT 16858, Jalan Section U1/44 Persiaran Kerjaya, Shah Alam, Selangor.
Top tip: it’s better to use Google maps to show you the way, as Waze will just lead you to the motorway opposite the Park.
