The school holidays are approaching at super human speed. After you experience that warm glow of knowing you don’t have to get them ready for school for three glorious weeks, you suddenly realise you have to find something fun to do to keep the whole family happy.
As we all know that can be easier said than done, especially if you have children with drastically different ages and interests.
Don’t panic, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Sunway Pyramid has come to the rescue with something to keep even the most hard to please members of your household happy. The most difficult decisions will be what to try first and of course what to eat for lunch!
Little ones can head to soft play heaven
What could be better than the London themed Parenthood soft play area for the under 12s, filled with super slippery slides and so much more to delight the senses. During the week an adult and child can play for RM29.50, the price is more at the weekend, but those under 12 months can go in free with a paying sibling. So you won’t have to deal with a tantrum, unless your husband isn’t very happy when you tell him it’s time to leave.
If you want to have a ball, head to the Sunway Pyramid West, Unit 003 on the first floor. Call 016-210 4398 or visit the Parenthood here for more information. And just in case you were worried, like every activity in Sunway Pyramid it’s regularly sanitised and complies with all SOPs.
Tweens can glide to the ice rink
If the not quite teenagers want to try something cool, then skating at Sunway Pyramid Ice could be the answer. Whether you are a Bambi legged beginner or have graduated to being graceful it doesn’t matter, this world class rink is a great place to give it a go.
It’s also lots of fun for the younger ones who can sit on an especially designed seal seat and be pushed around the ice. Personally, I love these as they make you look like a much better skater than you are, as you have something to cling on to! Stop by the ice rink here for costs and session times.
Teenagers can break out of a Mission Q escape room
Teenagers are well known for not wanting to leave their bedrooms unless there is an emergency, like the wifi has gone off. So what could be more suited to them than being locked in an escape room for an hour and having to solve clues in order to get out. There are five rooms to choose from, including The Imperial Mausoleum and Knock Knock Who’s There? They can be booked ahead of time online here. And if they don’t manage to escape they might finally be willing to admit that they don’t know everything!
Fun for the whole family with bowling, films, archery and Future Land!
However, if you are looking for something the whole family can enjoy, you could try your hand at bowling in one of the 48 lanes available at Sunway Mega Lanes. If it’s good enough for the national team to play at, I am sure you’ll also like it. I personally like playing with the family, as I am not very good, so at least I have a chance of beating the children. You will need to wear bowling shoes that can be rented from RM3, so please bring your socks. The bowling alley is at Lot F1.22.
If you want to recharge your batteries or just fancy being whisked away to another world for a few hours, then the TGV Cinema is the place for you. Visit F1.01, level 1 to choose between standard seats, the fancy LUXE seats, the state of the art IMAX or the Beanie shows that are perfect for small kids that want to sink into a big bean bag.
For those aiming to try something different, if your children are above seven, they could have a go at using a bow and arrow in one of the 23 lanes available at Star Archery. Prices start at just RM15, you need no experience and all the necessary equipment will be provided when you go to F1.25.
Finally, if your family think they already tried virtually everything else, why not head to the Future Land Fun Zone. Kids as young as three can experience a virtual reality car ride or the older kids can get lost in the Mirror Maze inside this VR haven, based at F1 20 and 21.
