In the heart of Kuala Lumpur’s KLCC, we enjoyed a nice lunch at Evolution at the recently re-opened Renaissance Kuala Lumpur.
Evolution offers a delightful semi-buffet concept called Pranzo Italiano. The idea behind a semi-buffet is simple yet brilliant – you order your main dish à la carte while indulging in a buffet spread of appetisers, salads, desserts and more.
An inviting ambiance
Upon entering Evolution, we were warmly greeted by attentive and helpful personnel. The ambiance exudes an inviting charm, making it the perfect setting for a casual lunch or dinner outing. A glance around confirmed our initial impressions, revealing a tempting array of culinary offerings, from an antipasti bar to soups, a vegan corner and of course a delightful sweet bar.
Eager to start our culinary journey, we promptly ordered the main dishes. We decided to go with Salmon Linguini and Grilled Australian Lamb Cutlet. Both dishes arrived looking scrumptious, and the flavours did not disappoint, though we thought that the salmon was a little bit dry.
Spoiled for choice at Evolution
While waiting for the main dishes we headed to the antipasti bar, where we made our tutti-frutti plates, filled with a delightful assortment of a little bit of everything. The mixed seafood salad, crisp croutons with cheese, braised eggplant and a tomato juice shooter left us delightfully sated and eager for more.
After relishing our main courses, we wrapped our meal with some aromatic coffee and indulged in an array of sweet delights. Among our favorites were the Mango Passion Mousse and the classic Tiramisu. And don’t forget to explore the ice cream bar – an ideal choice for those with a sweet tooth!
Evolution at Renaissance Kuala Lumpur is a nice place to enjoy a casual lunch or dinner. This time it was just the two of us, but for kids 4 years and up, it can be a nice experience too. Make sure to bring a colouring book to keep them busy though, as there is no kids corner in the restaurant.
While Evolution may not be a high-end, upscale establishment, it certainly offers a comfortable and pleasant dining experience. The semi-buffet Pranzo Italiano concept adds an exciting twist to your dining options and the attentive service and diverse food selection make it a great choice for a laid-back and enjoyable meal.
