A date night at KLCC: what to do

We all love our kids, but sometimes it is good to have a date just with your better half. Looking for locations for a date night in Kuala Lumpur? Get ready for an evening filled with local food, casual drinks and stunning views in KLCC!

Let´s start with the famous Pelita Nasi Kandar at 149, Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur. It’s a friendly and affordable nasi kandar chain restaurant that serves mouth-watering dishes. Perfect location: only five minutes away from the Petronas Twin Towers. At this buffet-style café, you get to see all the delicious dishes laid out and you simply point to the ones you want on your plate. Besides the nasi kandar dishes, they also serve dishes like mee goreng and nasi lemak.

We ordered ayam goreng rempah and lamb at the kandar corner. The prices are very reasonable, varying from RM7 to approximately RM10, except if you order lamb for which we paid RM58. Even though it was tasty, I found it was not much value for money. Pelita Nasi Kandar also has an extensive drinks menu. We ordered a coconut which went perfectly well with the spicy food.

Time for drinks

After filling our bellies we went to grab some drinks. We decided to take a five-minute walk to the Canopy Lounge, a small rooftop bar on the second floor at 183 Jalan Mayang, Kuala Lumpur. Don’t expect anything fancy, but it’s pretty cozy and they have happy hour until 7pm. They have shisha as well, if you’re into it. If you rather have your drinks at a more fancy place, then go to WET Deck at W Hotel. You will be amazed by the perfect view of the Twin Towers!

Walk on the wild side

After the sun went down, we decided to head towards the Saloma Link Bridge at 9, Lorong Raja Muda Musa 3, Kampung Bharu. The Saloma Link Bridge is no ordinary pedestrian crossing, it’s an LED wonderland that changes colours every few seconds. It’s a must-see when it’s dark outside.

This bridge is an architectural gem, connecting traditional Kampung Bharu to the modern skyscrapers of KLCC. The designers must have been Instagram enthusiasts, because the bridge provides picture perfect views of the iconic Petronas Towers and the city skyline.

We enjoyed our date night a lot. So grab your partner’s hand and head over to KLCC. Happy dating!
