The next neighbourhood guide by Happy Go KL writers is out – helping families explore Damansara and Taman Tun!
The guide covers an area from The Curve and TTDI all the way to Kota Damansara and Bandar Utama. The name Damansara, that is featured in names of many of the neighbourhoods, was apparently a mishap. In the 1890s, a land registrar mistook the letter ‘r’ as ‘n’ and wrongly merged the original two-word name into one word. Hence, Damar Sara became Damansara.
A print version of this guide is available in coffee shops and other outlets around the area, and you’ll find some cool games for kids on the reverse side of the map. You can also download the pdf file of the map (A3 size) here:
Where to eat in Damansara and TTDI with kids
1. Goodness Greens
Think healthy, think Goodness Greens. Create your own bowl of yumminess, while the little ones can enjoy themselves in the kiddie corner. A win for all!
2. Bucket B at IPC
Parents take a breather over a cuppa while the kids play at the small play area, or you can pick up a board game for some down time in-between shopping.
3. Sushi Zanmai in 1Utama
Delicious Japanese food with a capital ‘D’. What makes this place so much fun is the conveyor belt and the little ‘train’ that delivers your order.
4. Roast Factor Glee
A little gem of a coffee shop across the street from Amped, serving artisan coffee and healthy light meals.
Do pick up a freshly baked loaf while there!
5. Rimba & Rusa
Local dishes, brunch classics and yummy desserts at Sunway Nexis. There is also a small kids’ corner upstairs.
6. K2
We love the Asian fusion set lunches and dinners that are well priced and nicely presented. Small kids eat for free!
