ZafigoX 2025: Acceleration – fuel your journey with bold ideas, inspiring stories, and unstoppable energy

Building on last year’s revitalising return, ZafigoX comes back this October with greater ambition and sharper focus.

Organised by Zafigo.com, a travel and lifestyle brand created to inspire women to safely explore the world around them, ZafigoX 2025 will take place on 11–12 October 2025 at Menara KEN TTDI, Kuala Lumpur. This year’s theme, ‘Acceleration’, is inspired by International Women’s Day 2025’s call to ‘Accelerate Action’.

Datin Paduka Marina Mahathir, founder of Zafigo.com and ZafigoX, shared: “ZafigoX has always been about showing what happens when women claim space, tell their stories, and step forward with courage. At this year’s festival, you’ll hear from a refugee who became a celebrated singer in her adopted country, while still championing her homeland, a Malaysian filmmaker winning acclaim abroad, a Bangladeshi poet drawing global voices to her community, and Malaysian advocates redefining justice and freedom. Some of these women may be new to you, but once you hear them, you’ll walk away changed, and ready to accelerate your own journey.”

For two transformative days, women from across Malaysia and the globe will gather for conversations, performances, and workshops designed to spark courage, creativity, and change. Day 1: Breaking Boundaries challenges us to defy expectations, whether that’s telling untold stories or building safe spaces online. Day 2: Reclaiming Space centres on reshaping narratives, reconnecting with culture, and creating the futures we want to see.

Be inspired by bold thinkers & changemakers at ZafigoX

ZafigoX 2025’s lineup brings together women who’ve carved paths across borders, disciplines, and industries. Among them: Afghan-born singer and activist Elaha Soroor, Bangladeshi poet and cultural leader Sadaf Saaz, Australian peacebuilder Dr Elaine Pratley, and Sri Lankan travel creator Shenelle Rodrigo.

They will be joined by acclaimed filmmaker Amanda Nell Eu (Tiger Stripes, 2023); Malaysian changemakers Zainah Anwar and Jac SM Kee; as well as beloved homegrown creatives and storytellers, such as Florentyna Leow, Melizarani T. Selva, and Yee I-Lann.

The panels promise candid conversations and new perspectives—from women who’ve built brands from scratch, to those excelling in male-dominated sports, to explorers taking on the world on their own terms. This year also makes space for artists and writers—those quietly and boldly shifting culture through poetry, illustration, and language.

Be inspired by the likes of Jenn Low (Wanderlust + Co), Farah Irdina (racing driver), Anita Yusof (first Muslim woman to motorcycle solo across the world’s 7 continents), and Jacinta Lim (Seek Sophie).

Performances will balance celebration and introspection. Expect contemporary shadow play by the all-female Wayang Women troupe, soulful music by Munirih Jebeni, and the raw lyricism of VIONA.

Workshops add hands-on experiences that encourage creativity and personal growth. Attendees can learn edible gardening with Eats, Shoots & Roots, cyanotype printing with Sunprint Studio, traditional Malay dance (Ronggeng) with ASWARA, travel sketching with Lisa Goh, self-defence techniques for women on the go with SheFights Malaysia, and capsule wardrobe curation with The Powderuum.

ZafigoX 2025 is not just a festival—it is a movement. It’s about momentum, change, and amplifying voices that need to be heard. Through panels, workshops, performances, and connections, it creates space for women to learn, engage, and leave inspired.
