When the invite for W Living Room x Clicqout Pop-Up Café at W Kuala Lumpur came in, I knew that this was going to be one for the books. As such, I eagerly made my way in to town for the event.
Upon arrival, we registered and were given a wristband – very club like feeling. The last time I was in a club, we were UV stamped – goes to show how long it’s been. Before the event started, we were offered hot chocolate in edible cups (it tasted like a mix between a wafer and a cookie). I loved this! What a wonderful concept of sustainability.

When things kicked off, we headed into Living Room to sample the bites on offer for the W Living Room x Clicqout Pop-Up Café. For this Parisienne-inspired journey with Clicqout, we had oysters (freshly shucked, and oh, so good!), Sweet Potato Chips (lightly salted which played off the sweetness from the sweet potato) and Chicken Cordon Bleu Sliders.

W Living Room x Clicqout Pop-Up Café: best part

My favourite part of the night was the champagne pairing. This was definitely worth the wait and queuing up for. We were offered three glasses of champagne, along with three bites.
First up was the Veuve Clicqout Brut Yellow Label and Beef Tartar and Oyster Mayo. This pairing was super yummy! The beef was fresh, beefy, and savoury, whilst the oyster was briny, and the mayo made the whole thing so creamy and velvety – big yums.
Next up was the Veuve Clicqout Brut Rosé and Cheesy Croquette. The croquette was still piping hot when it arrived and this made a huge difference in the experience. It was crispy, rich, and savoury – the kind of nibble that goes well with champagne.
Last up was the Champagne Cocktail and Truffle Croque (grilled mushroom cheese toasties) which were earthy, and crunchy.

For all the three pairings, I would certainly order many more rounds of the bites, along with the Veuve Clicqout Brut Yellow Label (I may have a stash of these at home, and so I may be biased here). My least favourite was the Champagne Cocktail – I think champagne is best on its own, but that’s just my personal opinion.
My plus one and I then moved on to desserts. Soft serve served with champagne? YES PLEASE! I had the Passionfruit Soft Serve (the champagne is poured onto the soft serve) and I loved this. The passionfruit was tart whilst the bubbles in the champagne gave it a certain fizz.
There was also the Mango Sticky Rice Brulée, which was torched on demand. This was really good – we both loved this. The Thai Milk Tea Cheesecake on the other hand didn’t really wow us as it felt too dense.

The rest
Throughout the evening, there was a DJ spinning out a curated playlist just for the W Living Room x Clicqout Pop-Up Café. I will say, the vibes were totally on point.
The balcony area of Living Room has been transformed into an entire Clicqout area. With bright, and sunny golden yellow sun loungers, parasols, bench cushions – this area screams summer (which in Malaysia it kind of always is). I can imagine kicking back and sipping champagne in this area, would be très chic.

The entire W Living Room x Clicqout Pop-Up Café is a whole vibe, from the décor to the food to the tunes. You have to be there to fully immerse yourself in it, and I highly recommend that you do – you won’t be disappointed.
W Living Room x Clicqout Pop-Up Café runs from now until 30 November 2026. There will also be guided champagne tastings to weekend brunches with live entertainment, themed weekends and interactive workshops. These will change seasonally so best to follow them on their IG to keep up to date.

There is also the Road to the Sun Retail Pop-Up, a boutique-style showcase of exclusive collectibles and gifting editions, where Veuve Clicquot bottles and curated gift sets are available. I’m eyeing the Personalisation Lab, where you can personalise your own Arrow Champagne box. Perhaps I’ll send this article to my friends – Christmas is coming up!

There is also the Let’s Ngopi, Darling! Afternoon Tea, which we find great for families. Here’s an idea: have the kids enjoy the afternoon tea, and the parents indulge in the W Living Room x Clicqout Pop-Up Café!
We were invited by W Kuala Lumpur. As always, our opinions are honest and our own.
