When I was offered a first taste of Subway’s new addition together with a festive treat, it was a no-brainer for me. I took up the offer as the soon-to-be-teen loves Subway. If given a choice, he’d eat Subway for lunch and dinner every single day...
The new addition is a Tri-Pepper Sub. It’s infused with three different types of peppers and certainly packs a punch! The Tri-Pepper Sub infuses a blend of pink, green and black peppercorns with basil, cilantro and salt into the chicken patty. Our sub came with lettuce (which the soon-to-be-teen picked out, eye roll here please), tomatoes, capsicums and mayonnaise. And I must say, it works a treat!
The sub is both refreshing and flavourful. The spiciness of the peppers hits you right away and yet the greens in the sub balance it out. I got a bite of the sub, while the rest was wolfed down by the soon-to-be-teen in minutes.
Never say no to cookies
After every sub he has, he follows it on with a cookie as dessert. The festive cookie which arrived was Mint Chocolate Chip. I thought he’d give this a miss since it has mint but he, again, wolfed it down! I did manage to get a bite of it before I passed it to him and I must say, it was decadent and the mint flavour really came through. You can actually smell the mint as you remove it from its paper cover – minty heaven!
Overall, these new additions for the festive season work really well. I believe the next time we’re at Subway, he’ll be ordering this combo (minus the lettuce) until the promotion ends on 18 January 2022!
