When foodies paradise Tiffin at the Yard at Sentul Depot opened in November 2021, we couldn’t wait to check out the place. Finally, we had a chance last month to head over to find out what the hype was all about!
A perfect 10 on the Insta-scale
Instagrammers, get your phones charged… The possibilities for great shots and selfies are endless at Tiffin at the Yard. The formerly train depot has been transformed into a covered food hall where several pop-up cooking stations are positioned. Tables and some comfy looking couches are spread around. You can easily hang out here just with that special person, but also for families with younger kids it’s great and even bigger groups are well catered for. The flat surface makes it easy to take a stroller around for the little ones.
The idea was to create a high-end food hall and I believe Tiffin’s succeeded very well!
Bring on the food
We started with some oysters which were fresh and succulent, and also the chicken wraps we ordered after our entree were super nice. We were not very enthusiastic about the paella though, which lacked taste. We had some fried calamari as well, which were crunchy on the outside and tasty on the inside. Be ready though to pay over RM20 for 6 rings. Foodwise, I have to say the place can be a ‘hit and miss’. Make sure to pay a visit to the cocktail bar… These guys know what they’re doing!
Overall, Tiffin is a very nice hang out for everyone, with a great atmosphere. Music is a bit loud, but that won’t stop me from coming back! For an overview of all participating restaurants, have a look at their website here. The curation of vendors is ever-changing, so it’s going to be exciting to find out who will be cooking this month.
