Kuala Lumpur is tuning in to a new frequency. From December 19 to 21, 2025, TEKKA makes its bold debut as the city’s premier audiovisual festival. Setting the stage at The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (klpac), TEKKA promises a thrilling convergence of sonic exploration and digital artistry, presenting a bold new chapter in Malaysia’s creative scene.
Building on Kuala Lumpur’s rapidly evolving A/V landscape, TEKKA is a vibrant meeting ground for experimentation, innovation, and cross-disciplinary exchange. The festival brings together musicians, composers, sound artists, and technologists from across Asia and beyond, forging new creative frontiers by merging the latest in audiovisual expression.
“TEKKA was born from a shared need to gather, listen, and experiment. We didn’t aim to build a conventional festival, but rather a living audiovisual space where sound, image, and system move together in tactile, honest ways. TEKKA is fluid and responsive. It’s an ongoing work in progress that adapts to its surroundings and the conversations within it. What drives us is curiosity and care, embracing risk and openness to listen differently. Ultimately, it’s also about people who create, take risks, and imagine new possibilities for audiovisual culture,” says Wee Jia Foong, co-founder and creative director of TEKKA.

Over three days, TEKKA presents a rich program featuring live A/V performances and hands-on workshops. Featured artists include a dynamic mix of regional and international talent, such as Malaysia’s euseng seto, Cerikapak, Anis Haron, rEmPiT g0dDe$$, Vasflow, Angqasa, Mulan Theory & cr.telur, Taiwan’s Chang Hsin Yu, Huang Wei and WhereIsChappie, Myanmar’s LnHD, alongside Toru Izumida from Japan.
If you’ve always wanted to explore real-time visuals, live A/V systems, interactive art or generative design, the beginner-friendly TouchDesigner Workshop with Ben Voigt will guide you through the fundamentals. And for those who have already started their TouchDesigner journey and want to push further, the intermediate workshop will explore advanced tools like the new POPs operator family, led by Ben Voigt and Yea.
At TEKKA / DIALOG, local and international artists sit down to share their journeys, their inspirations, and how A/V is evolving in Malaysia and beyond.
Rooted deeply in values of diversity and inclusion, TEKKA offers safe and welcoming spaces that foster community connections across cultures and disciplines. This debut edition seeks not only to present groundbreaking art but also to serve as a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and technological innovation.

“I wanted to create something beyond klpac’s usual productions, something that lets the public see its 123-year-old heritage home in a new light and imagine new creative possibilities. TEKKA also marks the finale of klpac’s 20th anniversary series. I hope the festival and the audiovisual elements awaken the audience’s senses, invite new ways of seeing and listening, and reflect what has been inspiring me in recent years. Whether you’re new to audiovisual art or already a fan, there’s something here for you,” says Maggie Ong, producer of TEKKA.
For its very first edition, TEKKA presents three shows, two workshops, and one TEKKA / DIALOG session. The festival is presented by RHIZO in collaboration with klpac, with support from ArtsFAS, Yayasan Hasanah, The Japan Foundation Kuala Lumpur, Chirpybird, National Culture & Arts Foundation (Taiwan), Blackbody Emission and Derivative, with Fluid Noise as programme partner.
Early bird tickets start from RM59, with a Festival 3-Day pass also available. For more information on programmes and tickets, visit CloudJoi.
