Hot Pot Buffet at Sichuan Kitchen
I, who like options, would opt for the hot pot buffet. The hot pot buffet at Sichuan Kitchen always leaves me feeling completely satiated. The go-to soup option for many would be the Sichuan Mala (as it should be since the place is called Sichuan Kitchen). However, as I do not consume spicy food no matter how mild, I always opt for the Tomato and Abalone (you pick two soup bases). The Tomato Soup at Sichuan Kitchen is full of flavour. I can sit, and just chug it down by the bowlfuls. I love soups.

The buffet options included a variety of cold dishes (mostly spicy) to start off your meal, meats (beef and lamb leg are freshly sliced on the spot; beef a yes from but the lamb wasn’t a hit), seafood (slipper lobster a clear favourite for every diner when we were there) and homemade paste (shrimp, fish and squid).

There’s also vegetables, mushrooms and standard hot pot offerings such as fried bean curd, fish ball and crab stick amongst others.

Desserts and drinks are also available as part of the buffet.
I feel that going the hot pot route as your reunion meal is perfect as it’s communal and everyone at the table gets involved in the cooking! Read last year’s review on Sichuan Kitchen’s Chinese New Year meal here.
