My kids regularly pretend to be cats. They also play pet shop, dream about having a cat and lovingly push their toy cats around in a pushchair. So not surprisingly, I scored some big-time mummy-points by taking them over to Purradise Cat Café in TTDI.
On a weekday at opening time it was quiet, and we had all the cats to ourselves. Apparently weekends are often busy with cat-lovers.
With so many cats around the kids were over the moon. Some cats were up for fun and games with the toys provided, some were more interested in cuddles or eating my sandwich (!).
Rescued cats at Purradise Cat Café
The residents are all rescued cats. The owners of the café want to eventually start finding forever homes for some of the cats but the adoptions have not started yet. The cats have their own stories and personalities, and the friendly owner is happy to share them with you.
This is the pricing structure:
Our cafe follows a time-based model of charging. This is to control capacity as well as ensure that the cats do not get stressed out from too much attention for prolonged hours.
First Hour: RM15 per person, inclusive of one free smoothie / fresh juice / coffee / hot drink
Subsequent 15 minutes: RM3 per person* Free 30 minutes for every RM12 spent on ala-carte items.
The main attraction here are obviously the cats, but they have good coffee and decent sandwiches. Kids are most welcome. Some of the cats are playful and not all are into children, so a bit of parental help is needed if the kids are not used to animals/cats.
