A Reflection of Life’s Journey with The klpac Orchestra
From 17th to 18th May, join multi-award-winning soprano Dr. Ang Mei Foong for an intimate and emotional concert with The klpac Orchestra, led by Music Director and Resident Conductor Lee Kok Leong. A Whisper of Soul: A Reflection of Life’s Journey offers a rare glimpse into Dr. Ang’s life and artistic journey, presented through a three-part programme that traces her path from a young dreamer to a seasoned performer and educator.
Dr. Ang’s voice, described as mellow and deeply expressive, has captivated audiences across the world. Her accolades include the “Ordine della Stella D’Italia” (Order of the Star of Italy), the Golden Medal Award from the Berliner International Music Competition, and Best Solo Performance (Vocal) at the 16th BOH Cameronian Arts Awards.
The concert opens with the First Movement: Fate, reflecting the dreams and doubts of youth. It features works by Verdi including La forza del destino. The Second Movement: Self Reflection highlights key moments in her growth as an artist, with works by Massenet, Dvořák, Robert Stolz and Cilea. The final Third Movement: Acceptance embraces the passage of time and transformation, brought to life through Richard Strauss’ Vier Letzte Lieder.
