The Out of Africa Restaurant & Kudu Bar is not new to PJ, having been set up in 1995 by its South African owners, but it’s a firm favourite with both little people and their slightly older parents.
Whether you want to enjoy some time being out of the office or just out of the house, we have tracked down the perfect place for you! We find Out of Africa a great place to while away the hours, having a bite to eat with your loved ones or on a play date.
Roast or venison? Something for everyone!
There is a wide selection of food and drinks available at Out of Africa, and on Sundays they offer a traditional roast dinner. But if you are feeling game, you might want to sink your teeth into an ostrich escalope or a venison pie that is not too dear. There is also a kids menu with all the usual western dishes, such as pasta, and chicken tenders. This makes the place ideal for kids and adults birthday parties.
Family friendly
However, the best part of this restaurant is its location and its fun, family friendly atmosphere. Not only does it have a small but perfectly formed park in the dining area to keep the children amused, it’s also right next to a huge swimming pool that anyone can use, as long as they ring to book ahead and pay a small fee. The number to call to reserve your slot is 03 7960 7919. It cost our children MYR 5 each for an hour, as they are under 12.
A word of warning though: the pool is really deep in parts, as it is also used to teach scuba diving. No need to worry, there is a smaller one with a slide right next to it. So if you have a toddler, you may not get to sit down and relax as much as those with older children.

The restaurant follows the MKN SOPs, and their service team is 100% vaccinated. Children under 18 years are allowed in with fully vaccinated parents.
