My husband and I are always on a mission to discover new places to eat. Our experiments can be quite a hit-and-miss, so we were pleasantly surprised to find a cute and cosy café surrounded by tall trees at Old Klang Road. March Azalea Kitchen call themselves a coffee shop cum modern restaurant.
The ground floor looks quite basic at first glance, but you soon see a cute bricked courtyard towards the back. It is outfitted with fans, so lunch goers can stay cool. We saw couples as well as families enjoying the food in the restaurant.
Upstairs is more homey with little nooks to sit in and three window seating areas, complete with cushions and low tables. Perfect for an afternoon with a coffee and a book, or maybe to do some writing or laptop work.
Tasty dishes
The menu offers Western and Eastern options. We ordered the Nasi Sambal Terasi (with fried pork) for RM13.90 and the Fried Mushroom Egg Rice for RM15. Both dishes were brought fast by the staff to our table. The food was fresh and very tasty, with just the right amount of crispy. I especially liked the sambal, as it was home made and not oily or too spicy.
We finished with the Mixed Berry Panna Cotta (RM13) which was on the small side, but still a nice treat to finish off the meal. We thought the food is quite yummy! We would definitely go back to March Azalea Kitchen. You can have a look at the full menu here.

The café is located at 40 Jalan Awan Hijau Taman Overseas Union, Kuala Lumpur. Their phone number is 03 7972 7330. Tip: parking is a bit tricky, so get there before the rush or park closer to the houses and walk.
