First off, almost every dish we tried at The Mesh, Four Points by Sheraton KLCC‘s Jelajah Citarasa High Tea Buffet was scrumptious! It’s not often so many of the dishes in a buffet deliver such tongue tingling satisfaction. There were lots of variety of taste in a somewhat limited (still approximately 10-12 stations) but well served choice of Malay dishes (frankly, I prefer the smaller buffets so they can concentrate on what they do well, rather than those larger factory line places). Here are some of the feedback on what we tried…
Unique and very tasty here are three dishes that I would definitely go back for – creamy spaghetti sos daun selasih, seriously delish chicken rendang lasagne, and Ipoh White Coffee crème brûlée – but there are many more tastes to tempt you, such as, crispy fried tilapia, piping hot steaming nasi minyak, and daging kicap hitam. The fluffy briyani rice station with yoghurt was also a winner, as well as the fried meaty ayam lobak, fresh kam heong prawns, and the crunchy jumble of vegetables in the tumis akar.

Other notables were the tender hearty lamb stew, loved the almost smokey abalone sashimi, spicy tangy crispy mango salad and the unique drinks on offer like leong fun Milk (Chinese herbal drink) and the iced longan tea which was delightfully refreshing.
Sweet endings at Jelajah Citarasa High Tea Buffet

Desserts we would go back for were the deep fried cakar ayam, which sounds savoury but is just the right sweetness and crunchy, sort of rice crispies baked with gula melaka. Their innovative cheese cake with biscuit base and cendol jelly topping was also a crowd pleaser. Refreshing tong sui and melon & jelly cold sweet soups were a nice way to end the night.
We would definitely come back and bring friends to this buffet. Quite a treat, and if they are full, just head next door to Sichuan Kitchen!
