Getting your Hari Raya baju online

hari raya

I love the month of Ramadhan, Hari Raya and the joys of pasar Ramadhans everywhere. It is such a wonderful way to lead up to the festivities of Hari Raya and open houses, the unique Malaysian festive occurrence where houses are literally open on a day for you to visit!

I am already counting the Hari Raya open house invitations and have started dreaming of having lemang, ketupat, rendang and satay at one go.

Open house invites also mean that I need a baju raya. Whilst modest clothing is absolutely fine, I always love being part of the celebration and wear a baju for my visits. Usually I would trawl the shops of Masjid India, Kamdar or Jakel to decide from a million fabric choices and find a tailor to bring my outfit to reality. This year, I decided to take my purchases online and found many different options.

Zalora

The #zaloraraya2017 is very addictive due to the vast collection. There is an ongoing sale which makes everything even more attractive! Designers of note include: Rizalman, Jovian Mandagie, Tom Abang Saufi and Melinda Looi. They have a super easy to use app which is very user friendly. While options for mamas seem endless, they don’t have anything for kids.

Fashion Valet

Founder Vivy Yusuf has a massive instagram following and the Fashion Valet Raya is truly sensational with a stellar round of designers including Alia B, Aere, Fiziwoo, Khoon Hooi, Mimpikita, Nurita Harith. They now have FVKids with some lovely options for Raya including the Pokoks . The Wau collection is one that has definitely caught our eye. A great one-stop for the Open House needs of the whole family.

Poplook

Poplook has a comprehensive collection online with something for every taste. Of particular interest is the kids collection for both boys and girls.

Others

Other standalone stores with interesting options especially for the young ones:

Whimsigirl, Poya and Kupu Kupu Studio.

    1. I had many trepidations myself but they do give quite extensive measurements and pictures. I was quite happy with my purchase but I have in other instances used their no quibble returns policy.
