Creeps & Treats for Halloween!

Creeps & Treats

Halloween… that fabulous time of the year when legend, folklore and spooky fun join hands to turn the town into a playground for goblins, witches and werewolves. If you’re as excited and passionate about Halloween as I am, the first thing you do (ok, after diving into online shopping for spooky outfits) is find out where to go for the best Halloween treats. Hence my excitement when we received an invitation to try the Creeps & Treats – an evening tea experience for both adults and children at Courtyard by Marriott Kuala Lumpur South.

Chillingly charming Creeps & Treats tea spread

Teas… whether you call them high, afternoon or evening, they always offer that wonderful mix of sweet and savoury bites. The evening tea at Courtyard by Marriott Kuala Lumpur South is no exception. After admiring the impressive tower decked in gorgeous cupcakes, chocolate-dipped éclairs and macarons, all dressed in spooky looks, we were served an additional serving of mini hamburgers and scones – naturally, all dressed up in the Halloween theme. A treat for adults and kids alike!

Without kids in tow, my plus one and I decide to order the alcoholic Bloody Mary – it’s Friday after all, and that deserves a toast. Of course, there’s a non-alcoholic version too. With its blood-red hue and topped with a freaky dried orange, the cocktail fits perfectly into the creepy-cute atmosphere of the tea set.

Time to dig in

Sweets first or savoury? That’s always the question… but with so much deliciousness staring at us, we decide to go all in. The scones are tasty (though the cream is clearly aimed at little ones), while the hamburger is the clear winner on the savoury side, closely followed by the mini bagels with smoked salmon, styled like little pirates. From the sweet bites, my personal favourite is the ‘alien éclairs’ – playful, creamy and surprisingly light.

Good to know

Old Klang Road and Jalan Puchong can be busy, and traffic jams are pretty much unavoidable. Plan your journey with extra time to spare. Parking can be a bit tricky too, so patience is key.

In the mood for more drinks after your spooky tea? Head upstairs to At 137, the hotel’s hidden bar on the first floor – a relaxed space with a great cocktail menu and a cosy vibe.

The Creeps & Treats evening tea experience is available every Friday until 31 October, from 6pm – 9pm. It is priced at RM88 per set for 2 persons, including a choice of alcoholic or non-alcoholic Bloody Mary.
