Christmas at Nook: food aplenty with a dash of snow!

In a cute and quirky Sentral area hotel called Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral, next to the airport express train building, sits a restaurant called Nook. Go past the reception, walk over the giant snakes and ladders board on the floor & take the escalator up to the cosy Nook on the first floor.

Starting from 28 November, Nook will be having their Thanksgiving themed buffet, followed by their similar Christmas themed buffet. There were so many food choices, the offerings were mind blowing – Chinese soup bar, pasta station, salad bar, sushi offerings, cheese board, satay table, oyster table, roast beef, roast lamb, roast chicken, and lots of tooth aching desserts to choose from. Here’s a breakdown of what we tried.

Nook Spark & Snow Dinner Buffet: let’s dig in

The starter bar was amazing, with a myriad of colours; refreshing Crabmeat Salad with Apple and Fennel, some pretty unusual but tasty Salad in jelly, Beetroot Salmon Gravlax (a feast for the eyes), Crumbed Tuna, Smoked Duck, Pesto Smoked Salmon and Seafood (the crayfish and prawns were fresh and tasty).

Moving onto the roast table, the Baby Baked Potatoes were so yum, and sitting pretty next to the Beef Wellington (pastry & innards were a joy – Spinach crepe and minced mushrooms), the Roast Beef was super moist and paired with Yorkshire Puddings and a delicious potato like stuffing. Highly recommended! Also to try was the Fried Sea Bass with Black Bean Sauce.

The next table held a variety of offerings we liked; home made dorito like chips with five different freshly made dips, Oyster with Herbs and Parmesan, Baked Oyster with Mornay Sauce, Smoked Duck with Balsamic Glaze and Thyme Juice, and Brussel Sprouts with Asparagus.

And finally the desserts, which were a feast for the eyes and the mouth; Cocoa Mousse Log, Spiced Crème Brûlée, Passionfruit Nutmeg Mousse (so light, creamy, sour and a clear favourite), the German style Christmas cookies had a nice spice to them, the Berry Panna Cotta was so light and refreshing & finally the gooey Caraméliséd Spiced Mince Pie was delicious! A must try! (oops not to forget the soft, tart and creamy Cranberry Cheesecake which had a perfectly soft texture and was not overly sweet.)

In summary, starting from RM158 nett per pax, it’s a great deal and a good time out with the kids, especially as they have kids activities in the lobby during the holidays and even a snowfall machine.

The Spark & Snow Dinner Buffet runs from Thursdays to Saturdays, from 28 November to 27 December 2025, from 6:00pm – 10:00pm.
