A Christmas feast of flavours at Pullman KLCC

Pullman Christmas buffet

When carols, a large Christmas tree and the scent of gingerbread come together, something magical happens. The energy in the room changes, people’s eyes light up and a shared sense of excitement fills the air. This year, come and experience a fabulous Christmas celebration in the centre of town!

Christmas tree, a giant gingerbread house and carols

In the lobby of Pullman KLCC earlier this week, in front of a massive life size gingerbread clock tower and choo – choo train, a giant Christmas tree was hovering over a lovely set of singers, belting out all the wonderful Christmas songs, and inviting guests to sing along with them. Santa and Santarina handed out little tins with delicious Christmas cookies and gingerbread men, which were much appreciated by the guests. Meanwhile, at restaurant Sedap – meaning delicious in Malay – the chefs set up their stations and staff dressed in cute green elf-outfits were busy preparing the tables.

Of turkeys, seafood and desserts

The buffet at Sedap, Pullman KLCC may not be large, but as the saying goes, quality over quantity – and it certainly delivers on that front. As big fans of carbs, we headed straight for the impressive bread corner. There, we found a huge display of carb-filled delights, from bread rolls to tempting pastries. While my plus one couldn’t stop raving about the strawberry-topped bread rolls and Danish pastries, my personal favourite was the rosemary and olive focaccia.

The next stop was the seafood corner, featuring succulent freshly cooked prawns, Moreton Bay bugs, scallops and delightful oysters, shucked right before your eyes for ultimate freshness. Careful not to overload our plates – since there was so much more to discover – we thought this corner was the topper of the buffet. Nope, we were wrong… But no spoilers yet!

Kids – and adults too – will love the pizza and taco corner, where chefs prepare these tasty treats right before your eyes. The cold plates section is a truly stunning display, with smoked salmon taking centre stage and undoubtedly stealing the show. Its texture is perfect – salty, slightly sweet, and delightfully flaky.

Pullman KLCC Christmas buffet turkey

Christmas is not complete without some turkey on your plate and we were still able to fil our tummies a bit more. So we headed for the turkey and roast beef, and where the last one was a tad dry, it was very tasty but with the right kind of sauce and roast potatoes. The oven roasted orange brined turkey was a big winner for me, being juicy and tender.

We didn’t need more food really, but the desserts table was beckoning us to come and try. Inspired by this year’s theme, Christmas Vacations, we sampled a bit of everything on offer and we were not disappointed. They were all too good! If I did have to pick a favourite though, it would be the lemon tarts, with raspberry ice-cream in the centre. Kids will love the red-coloured chocolate fountain.
