The wave of new brunch places continues and that’s just great, brunch is the ultimate family meal, after all. This time we checked out Wild Honey, a popular Singapore chain of restaurants that now has an outlet at the Pavilion.
There is some very cool seating outside, where you can enjoy a bird’s eye view of the centre court of the mall. Unfortunately when we were there, this section was not open – it would be quieter and warmer to sit out here!
The decor inside is lovely – almost like you are not in a busy mall at all. We had booked a table online and luckily so, apparently Wild Honey is wildly popular and during peak times you may have to wait for quite a while for a table if you don’t have a reservation.
Food at Wild Honey
The menu has loads of sweet and savoury options, and a small kids’ menu. The menu is clearly divided in sections for meat, fish and vegetarian, with dished named after countries and cities. We opted for a Mexican (eggs in burritos) and a Norwegian (eggs, salmon, avocado and asparagus), while the kids chose the ever safe eggs+sausage+bread combo.
You can’t really go wrong with this, and apparently the brioche was a top choice. I would have liked to see something from the vegetable family on the plate, but that naturally didn’t bother the tiny people at all.
The breakfast burrito had a bit of a kick to it, and was super filling. The Scandinavian was nice too, but was perhaps missing something, a small salad on the side would have been great. The portions were so big that we had no space for desserts * shock horror! Next time I would order one main and one of those amazing looking pancakes that we saw passing our table.
All in all the food was tasty and plentiful, but with prices hovering around RM40 per dish we were expecting perhaps a bit more. I have to say that we picked the safe options from the menu – if you are an egg-lover you will likely enjoy some of the more adventurous and signature dishes on the menu. All in all, it’s a great restaurant for family meals (high chairs and kids’ menu) if you are in Pavilion, but expect to pay top ringgit.
