Whether you are staying in Janda Baik or just driving up for some of that fresh air and greenery, Purple Cane Tea restaurant is a fine place to stop for a meal. We had dinner here while staying in a cottage a stone’s throw away.
The beautiful and airy restaurant is located right by the entrance and visitors’ centre of Tanarimba gated community. For some, the highlight of the meal was not on the menu, but outside: there is a large fish pond and a huge lawn perfect for football and cart wheels right outside the restaurant.
Food at Purple Cane Tea
The menu wasn’t bad either. The Purple Cane is part of a group of tea shops and restaurants in Klang Valley and Ipoh – so you will find a good selection of tea as well as dishes seasoned with tea. Words like “healthy” and “organic” were spotted on the menu and the food is MSG free.
Most dishes were very tasty. We thoroughly enjoyed our noodles that tasted fresh and healthy, and the sweet potato chips went down a treat. The misses this time were the kids’ burgers that were a bit too different from the norm for their liking, and the duck that was extremely salty.
The ambiance of this restaurant is fantastic and it makes for a great stop while in Janda Baik. The food is definitely a notch healthier than the roadside fare, and there is plenty of space for the kids to roam around.
