apricot by Peaches and Cream: a charming European escape in KL

apricot by Peaches and Cream

Walking into apricot by Peaches and Cream at MyTOWN Shopping Centre feels like stumbling on a little slice of sunny Europe right in KL. The place is bright and airy, with soft tangerine and green tones everywhere, big windows letting in loads of natural light, comfy benches with cushions, and those cute peach prints on the walls. Adorable plushies sit at the entrance welcoming you – a playful touch, especially if you’re with kids or just want that cosy feel. Outside on the terrace, parasols shade the bistro tables, making it perfect for a relaxed hangout.

This cosy heaven is run by Chef Victor Yap, who left engineering in London to chase his passion for food. He brings all that European travel experience here, making everything from scratch and keeping it halal-friendly so more people can enjoy it. The menu includes a nice variety: light salads, hearty pastas, in-house pizzas (savoury and even dessert ones), classics such as fish & chips, brunch options, and an impressive selection of cakes and desserts.

The fun menu

The staff were friendly and on point – nothing over-the-top, just nice and attentive without hovering.

apricot by Peaches & Cream – let’s dig in

I started with the Smoked Salmon, Apple & Pecan Salad – it was a fresh and substantial plate of crisp greens in a zingy citrus dressing, pops of pomegranate, tart apple slices, savoury smoked salmon, and crunchy pecans. Light, balanced and satisfying. I paired it with a strawberry soda that was bubbly and not too sweet.

For mains, the Chicken Nduja pasta stole the show – spaghetti in a rich, creamy sauce of homemade spicy sausage meat, sweet capsicum sofrito, and that rich, spicy nduja kick. It had great balance – spicy but not overwhelming, with nice depth from the peppers. I also couldn’t resist the Mushroom & Black Truffle pizza (they offer solo/individual sizes for certain dishes like pizzas – very smart, especially since a whole pizza is too much for me and I hate wasting food), and wow – the base was chewy and stretchy, topped with truffle paste, mushrooms, parmesan béchamel, and melty Italian cheese. It was opulent and indulgent, the truffle flavour was everywhere in the best way.

Dessert is where this place shines with their famous Dessert Tree – those glass-domed stands full of cakes and treats look like a Willy Wonka dream. I tried the Carrot Cake (moist, nicely spiced, not too sweet) and the hummingbird one (smooth and delicious). Both came with that silky crème anglaise poured over which elevated them even further. But I’ll be back for the Peaches and Cream Cheesecake or the Chocolate Cherry one next time – they sound too good to miss.

Portions are generous, and pricing feels reasonable and fair for the quality.

Overall, apricot by Peaches and Cream nails that welcoming European comfort vibe without being pretentious. Great for families, catch-ups, or just treating yourself. Service was spot-on, food felt thoughtful, and the space makes you want to linger. Definitely heading back soon – so many more dishes to try!
