VroomTown Malaysia: great mini city fun for kids!

VroomTown

Over the recent long weekend, we went to check out VroomTown Driving City Malaysia at Atria Shopping Gallery, and it turned out to be such a fun experience for the kids. As the name suggests, VroomTown is an indoor mini drive-and-play city designed especially for children, complete with its own little roads, traffic signs, and themed stations — it really feels like a tiny city made just for them.

First stop: registration & driving licence

VroomTown operates by sessions (time slots), so once you arrive for your session, you’ll need to register at the front counter first before entering. One of the cutest parts is that the kids get to sign up for their very own VroomTown driving licence, complete with a photo! This little card really made my kids feel like real drivers, and they were so proud of it. After settling all the ‘admin’, you finally get to enter the town!

However, there will be a Basic Driving & Road Safety Lesson briefing to explain how to operate the car and go through the traffic rules before you get to choose your cars. Once all that is done and dusted, let the driving begin!

Tip: Try to arrive at least 15 minutes before your time slot so you have enough time to register and get ready — especially on busy days.

Driving around the mini city

The core experience here is definitely the driving, and my kids absolutely loved it. They couldn’t stop giggling as they hopped into the little cars and navigated the mini roads with traffic lights and signs. It felt like a real driving lesson designed for little ones!

The cars were also easy to manoeuvre, and my girls picked it up quite fast — within minutes they were confidently steering, stopping, and driving along the track on their own. One of their favourite parts was going up and down the overhead flyover, which added an extra bit of excitement and made it feel like a proper little city adventure.

Although my youngest one needed to be driven (kids below 5 years old need a parent to drive and sit with them), she still had so much fun.

Interactive Stations

What makes VroomTown even more special is that it’s more than just driving around. There are several stations the kids can engage in experiences, for example :-

  • Petrol Station: the kids can stop to “refuel” their cars — a small detail but one that was quite popular with younger kids.
  • Mechanic Workshop: a little mechanic area where kids can pretend to fix cars with the tools provided.
  • Grocery / Supermarket: my kids loved making little “errands” out of their play — stopping for pretend grocery shopping.
  • Post Office: stopping by the post office to send pretend mail.
  • Car wash : my youngest one loved this station the most. You put on little raincoats, grab the water jets, sponges, and soap, and start washing the cars. It felt like such an immersive, hands-on activity.

These stations make the experience feel like a complete little world rather than just driving in circles.

Another part we really appreciated was the play area, which is perfect for kids who need a break from driving. It’s a large indoor playground space where they can step away from the cars for a while, burn off some extra energy by climbing up the structures, going down the slides, jumping around the ball pits and just have fun moving around.

Session timing, pricing and some tips

Each session here runs for one hour, and honestly, the time just flew by once they got into the experience. We visited on a public holiday, so it did feel a little busy — with lots of excited kids zooming around. It was fun overall, but I’ll admit it felt a bit chaotic at times even though each session has an allocated number of participants. The staff are around to help guide things, but do be aware that some kids might drive more like bumper cars instead of strictly following the mini traffic rules, so just keep an eye out here and there.

Tickets start from RM85 for first-time drivers and RM75 for returning drivers (remember to show your VroomTown driving license!). Each child ticket includes 1 hour session and one free accompanying adult.

Definitely book online ahead of time, especially for weekends and public holidays — the slots here fill up really quickly and we saw many people who tried to walk in but had to be turned away as the slots were all fully booked.

Each session at VroomTown runs for one hour, and because the time goes by incredibly fast once the kids get into it, I’d recommend booking an extra hour when making your reservation if you can, so they have enough time to fully enjoy the experience without feeling rushed.

Socks are required at all times. I recommend wearing dark-coloured socks because we wore white ones and they ended up quite stained by the end!

Overall, VroomTown Malaysia is such a creative and unique indoor activity — especially for kids who love cars and imaginative play. My kids had an amazing time driving around and they’re already asking when we’ll go back!
