The Coach Coffee Shop at Mitsui Outlet Park: great for a quick bite

The Coach Coffee Shop at Mitsui Outlet Park is the brand’s fourth location in Malaysia. Whilst the main food and beverage offerings are mostly the same at all the coffee shops, each has its own unique soft serve flavour that’s only available at that location.

The interior

The Coach Coffee Shop at Mitsui Outlet Park is decked out in classic New York style diner chairs and even has one half of a (faux) yellow cab sticking out from the ceiling. Although I must say, those were the only New York vibes you get. The outlet felt rather bare as it was certainly spacious, which is not what New York eateries are like. Considering that this was in an outlet park, perhaps that was the ambience they were going for to suit the location.

The food

The food at The Coach Coffee Shop at Mitsui Outlet Park on the other hand certainly nailed the American fare.

For hot foods, there is the Beef Hotdog (with minimal dressing so that you actually taste the smokiness of the frank) which was demolished in mere seconds by the husband.

The Grilled Cheese is still my favourite from my previous tasting at The Coach Coffee Shop at APW Bangsar. This time though at The Coach Coffee Shop at Mitsui Outlet Park, the sandwich came with tomato soup. The soup didn’t do too much for me as I simply ate up the sandwich on its own.

For the ones with a sweet tooth

Cinnamon Sugar Donuts, Lemon Curd Donuts, Raspberry Glazed Crullers, Maple Glazed Crullers and Cinnamon Rolls were on the menu for sweets. Unlike me, the husband who has a sweet tooth, loved all these offerings. He gave them all nods of approval (and he doesn’t even like cinnamon). For me though, I thought them all too sweet.

The Flight

And finally, we got to The Flight – a set of the 4 soft serve flavours available at the outlet. At The Coach Coffee Shop at Mitsui Outlet Park, the flavours were Apple Pie, Red Velvet, Peaches & Cream and the location exclusive flavour – Nasi Lemak.

The Nasi Lemak definitely tasted like Nasi Lemak. I would eat up the santan flavour part of the soft serve (essentially coconut flavour) but the sambal half was too far out for me in terms of a soft serve. It was really spicy too! The Peaches & Cream was the winner for me – light and refreshing. It was clear as day why this is crowned the crowd favourite.

Drinks to go along

The Iced Lemonade is also a crowd favourite. Clearly I am one of the masses as I loved this too. There was just a hint of sweetness and the ice cubes are made from the lemonade itself. When the ice cubes start to melt, you still get the taste of lemonade zests!

The Strawberry Matcha Latte took me by surprise. I avoid matcha drinks as I’m not a fan. However, the one served up at The Coach Coffee Shop at Mitsui Outlet Park was a delight. The crushed strawberries and strawberry foam, complemented and balanced the bitterness of the matcha. I couldn’t get enough!

Service at The Coach Coffee Shop at Mitsui Outlet Park was warm and friendly, with big smiles all around. Service was prompt too. Making it a great choice for a grabbing a quick bite in between your shopping spree!
