On the 12th floor of the W Kuala Lumpur in the middle of Kuala Lumpur, sits a pretty cool spot – WET Deck. Complete with swimming pool, floating beds, cozy nooks, and a spectacular view of both the KL Tower and the Twin Towers, up beat lounge music greets you in the lift and surrounds you while seated around the pool. The cool vibes & the view definitely make it a memorable experience at WET Deck.

The Manager and Chef of WET Deck were very welcoming and quickly offered us some of their favourites. We started out with their signature cocktails, which were paired with the fried (green!) chickpea and gourd. The cocktails we tried had super cute names and were very yummy – Kuala Loco (green apple hints) and Spring Spritz with refreshing yuzu & Only Fans martini cocktail was creamy with egg white. Check out WET Deck’s full menu here.
Moving onto the food at WET Deck was just heaven – we really enjoyed the Salmon Belly Nori Tacos (Crispy seaweed & tasty salmon with pickled cabbage. A sweet, salty, crispy explosion of flavours). The Scallop with Cilantro Oil and Coconut Milk had mild curry hints with sweet juicy wakame hiding underneath. We then had the cheesy Chimichurri Chicken & the Crispy Barramundi Fish and Pickles Tacos, all part of the Trio Tacos menu option. Super tasty & the fish was excellent.

The Chef then brought out Croquetes de Chouriço with garlic aioli and cheese (salty, creamy, gooiness), the Lamb Quesadilla with freshly made roasted pepper dip and the Polo al Brasa Chicken Slider with salsa and cabbage. The flavours, the colours! – as plant based food lovers, we were very appreciative.
WET Deck: good to know
By this time, we were super stuffed. But enjoying the massive view and the cool sounds we just lay back on our lounger chairs and took it all in. The Marketing lady of WET Deck gave us more insights into this cool pool eatery – it gets busy so book ahead to avoid disappointment (indeed they had people coming in and out often, while we were there from 6pm – 8pm), WET Deck refreshes their menus every quarter (food is served from 5pm onwards & sunset chaser deals are priced at three items for RM140 or two for RM90), pool passes are available (families can buy a day pass; adults are priced at RM50 and kids at RM25), and they also have DJ and dance music weekends (Fridays & Saturdays from 9pm onwards).

Erlwin the Manager made the experience complete. Friendly, engaging and such a can do attitude! Thanks Erlwin!
Parking was easy in W Kuala Lumpur, but as the hotel is on the busy Jalan Ampang, do allow yourself more time to get into the city centre or use the LRT to avoid sitting in traffic.
A super worthwhile outing with friends and family – highly recommended to go at least once, or to take visitors.
We were invited by W Kuala Lumpur. As always, our opinions are honest and our own.
