If you’re a seafood lover (or just love an indulgent weekend feast), the Savour the Sea buffet at Curate in Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur is the Saturday night treat. We headed there as a family of five—three energetic kids in tow—and let’s just say, it was a night to remember.
Running every Saturday from April through June 2025, this seafood spread is all about celebrating the best of Malaysia’s coastal bounty. Think oysters, lobsters, mussels, prawns, crab, salmon—you name it, it’s probably chilling on ice or sizzling in a wok somewhere in the open kitchen.
Seafood galore
From the get-go, the vibe at Curate is upscale yet welcoming. Staff were friendly, helpful, and super accommodating with the kids (always a win). My husband and I were immediately drawn to the Savour the Sea seafood section which was absolutely epic! Picture towering piles of whole lobsters, bright red crab legs, plump prawns, and oysters galore, all glistening on crushed ice like little jewels from the sea. The lobsters practically beg to be on your plate, and the oysters? Freshly shucked and ready to slurp with a splash of lemon, vinaigrette, or tabasco sauce. There are even mussels, scallops on the half shell, little ceviche bites that pack a zesty punch and super fresh sashimi. Even if seafood isn’t normally your thing, this display might change your mind. Plus, the condiments and sides—like pickled ginger, wasabi, seaweed, and edamame—make it fun to build your own little seafood adventure.

Not into seafood?

Don’t worry—there’s still plenty for you. One of the unexpected hits of the night from the Savour the Sea buffet was the noodle station, offering four different soup bases. Our kids absolutely loved this section—they each got to pick their own noodles, soup and toppings, and the comforting, slurp-worthy bowls were a big hit. There’s also a live pasta station, which turned out to be one of the busiest counters of the night. Customisable toppings (think whole abalones!) and perfectly cooked pasta made it a crowd favourite for both kids and adults alike. The Indian section was also very popular with a great selection of curries, naan and briyani rice. There were also tandoori lobsters and tandoori river prawns which were full of flavour. At this point, I wished I had a bottomless pit so I could savour all the other dishes on offer (Chinese section, roast lamb, cheese and crackers) but I was already bursting out of my dress by then and of course I had to save space for dessert!
Sweet endings at ‘Savour the Sea’
Now, let’s talk about what really stole the show for our kids: the dessert section of course! We’re talking a full-on sugar wonderland. Wide selection of cakes, scoops of creamy ice cream with sprinkles, macarons, chocolate barks, jelly beans. It was like Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory had popped up right in the middle of KL. There was also a good selection of Asian desserts such as kuih and ice kacang. Our little ones were completely enchanted, and we may or may not have joined in the sugar-fueled fun ourselves!

While the Savour the Sea buffet price tag sits at RM288+ per adult and RM144+ per child (5 and above), we found it fair given the quality, variety, and experience—especially if you’re going all out for a special night with the family (or a seafood-centric date night). Savour the Sea is a buffet that lives up to the hype. Whether you’re there to sample premium seafood from across the region, indulge in creative chef specials, slurp noodles with your kids, or simply let your sweet tooth run wild, it definitely hits the mark. Just come hungry. And maybe wear something with a little stretch!
