When you’re a parent, date nights are rare and precious – between work, school runs and daily responsibilities, finding time alone together can feel nearly impossible. But when you do find the opportunity, you’d want to make the experience special and worthwhile, especially if you are planning on a nice fancy dinner together. That’s when the Table For Two experience at Graze, Hilton Kuala Lumpur comes in perfectly.
Perfect for any romantic occasion
Located in the heart of the city, Graze provides an intimate and sophisticated atmosphere, making it the ideal setting for a refined Italian culinary experience. Upon arrival, we were brought to our table which was tastefully decorated with rose petals and had a view overlooking the city. The whole Table for Two setting already gave out romantic vibes, we couldn’t wait to start on the bespoke four course menu designed just for this.

Table for Two: a culinary journey through Italy
To open up our palette and appetite, we were served an aperitif, made right in front of us by the bartender with his “bar on wheels”. In typical Italian fashion, we were served the negroni, and boy did it have a nice strong kick. My husband and I totally enjoyed this with the warm focaccia served. For the first course (antipasti), I chose the Caprese Salad which had the freshest buffalo mozzarella paired with the sweetest heirloom tomatoes. The husband opted for the Taglieri di Salumi which was a selection of cured Italian meats (salami, speck, pancetta) served with sourdough. He’s a big fan of cured meats and he gave the nod of approval for this.

Moving on to our second course (primi), I had the handmade Orecchiette Cardoncelli Pomodorini, which is a type of pasta served with organic cardoncelli mushrooms over a cherry tomato base sauce. I loved the chewy texture of the handmade pasta! The other primi option was the Guazetto, which is a slow-cooked seafood stew infused with the richness of Atlantic cod, mussels, and prawns. This had to be the star of the night for us. The broth was a flavour bomb, every sip was so moreish, I wish they gave a bigger bowl!

By now, our tummies were slowly filling up nicely and we were looking forward to the secondis (main dishes). However, when it arrived, the mains paled in comparison to the earlier dishes. My cod (Merluzzo Zucca) was overly salty even when paired with the pumpkin puree. The Angus beef ribeye (Costata di Manzo) fared a bit better. I wished the portions were a bit bigger though, considering it was meant to be the main course.

We were served a glass of limoncello each as a digestif before dessert. This packed a punch and I was ready to end on a sweet note. As authentically Italian as it gets, dessert simply had to be Tiramisu – and it was absolutely delicious! It was the perfect sweet ending to a lovely night out.
Overall, the whole Table for Two experience is perfect for any romantic occasion. We loved the atmosphere. Nothing too overly fancy, a little laid back yet intimate at the same time. So any couples looking to celebrate love while indulging in fine Italian cuisine, you know where to head to!
