Yesterday Once More: Love Is All You Need

Yesterday Once More

Looking for the perfect way to celebrate Valentine’s Day? Following five almost sold-out productions, the much-loved Golden Oldies concert series returns with Yesterday Once More: Love Is All You Need from 12 to 16 February 2025 at Pentas 2, klpac.

The latest edition has all the ingredients that guarantee you and your special someone a good night out while keeping things relatively fuss free and low-key. First of all, there’s the music, of course. Director Ian Chow has curated a line-up of classics from the 40s to the 60s made famous by the greats like The Beatles, Aretha Franklin, Nat King Cole, Barry Manilow, Elton John, Ella Fitzgerald and other legends.

Take a stroll down memory lane and let your “Young Hearts Run Free”, sway to “Copacobana” and “Moon River”, sing along to “Quando Quando Quando” and “Stupid Cupid” and create “Unforgettable” memories with your loved ones – be it your partner, best friend or even parents. You cannot go wrong with these tunes that have stood the test of time.

Classic songs and iconic songwriters aside, “Yesterday Once More: Love Is All You Need” features an impressive line-up of vocalists including Fuad of Kyoto Protocol, Joel Wong, Kirsten Long, Rachel “Ray” Liu, Tjoe and Alesia Dhana. They will be accompanied by a four-piece band led by Jacqueline Teng (also the Music Director) performing on Kawai’s Novus NV10S hybrid piano courtesy of Music Bliss and Kawai Malaysia, Jeremy James Kong on lead guitar, BalRai on bass and Chow on percussion.

Secondly, they have ditched the formal theatre setting in exchange for a more relaxed lounge-style setting complete with a candle-lit table of four seating, perfect for double dates, as well as regular seats.

Thirdly, there is no need to worry about refreshments as tickets come with complimentary drinks (except for the preview show). Audiences can also top up drinks from the counter inside the theatre.

You can also opt for the Love Birds Bundle which includes the tickets, drinks and a lovely bouquet of flowers with a handwritten message.

Presented by The Actors Studio Seni Teater Rakyat and klpac, licensed by MACP, “Yesterday Once More: Love Is All You Need” promises you a feel-good night of music that will linger in your heart long after the final note.
