Labels for school: where to get in KL?

It’s not just the kids who eagerly wait for the school to start, but – at least in this case – also the parents. The build up is a bit chaotic though, as will be the first days with a million things to remember to do and buy. One of them is putting labels on the newly bought uniforms and lunch boxes unless you want to start another WhatsApp operation trying to track down and reunite those lost items.

Last year I did it the easy way: permanent marker and iron-on labels from Daiso for 5 RM (as a bonus the packet will take me through their primary years, I think). Iron-on is the way to go – does someone seriously sew them on?

After three terms the labels are still on and writing clearly visible only on cotton shorts but washed out of swimming gear. Permanent marker is still faintly visible in some white cotton shirts but long gone from sports t-shirts made of synthetic materials.

This year we were sent a colourful package of different labels from Fun Printz. The cute iron-on labels came with clear instructions and were easy to handle. They seem to stick to the fabric well, but of course time only will tell. Once ironed on, they also felt softer than the Daiso labels (Very Important, as anyone else with a child that dreads itchy things in their clothes would know).

The laminated shape labels were a hit with the kids and found their way onto their lunch boxes and water bottles. They seem good quality and hopefully will survive washing. Labels can be ordered on-line.

The bag tags are cute and happen to fit the colour scheme of our newly purchased Frozen school bag perfectly!
