The planetarium in the middle of Lake Gardens is not one of the high profile museums in town, but it makes for a decent outing. The exhibits are getting quite old and many buttons don’t work, but especially the space craft section upstairs is interesting.

The planetarium is free, but you need to pay extra for the films (on the hour). I’d recommend the films – just the 3D experience is worth it. Many of the films are quite scientific and wordy but they only last about 20 minutes, which can be spent by just watching the planets glide past. If you suffer from motion sickness, this may not be for you!
