Fun craft ideas for Ramadan

The fasting month of Ramadan is here. We are lucky to share some ideas for cool crafts and healthy Ramadan snacking for the young ones by Manal from @Hello Holy Days, a popular blog that helps parents celebrate Ramadan, Eid & Hajj with fun crafts.

Manal says: “If you are hosting a children’s Ramadan or Eid party, kids can decorate their own mosque favour bags. The smaller paper bags are perfect for favours like notebooks, crayons, bubbles and individually wrapped snacks. Kids can easily make these themselves too – pre-cut the parts, particularly the more intricate ones like the minaret, and have kids glue the pieces to make the mosque”.

The complete tutorial is available at HelloHolyDays . She even has clipart that you can download – making it easy peasy for craft-challenged moms like me!

Ramadan treats: fruit kebabs

Manal says: “One of the Ramadan traditions is to break fast with dates. For a fun twist, fashion dates into fruit kebabs! Along with dates, we paired melon moons, pineapple and mango stars, purple marshmallows and grapes. These are especially great to make with kids and a great activity to help them learn how the Ramadan traditions correlate with the night. You don’t need a specialty cookie cutter for the crescent moon – you can make do with any round one you have at home”. The complete recipe is here.
