Publika is probably a regular haunt for most families living in the vicinity. The small outdoor playground, a variety of indoor kids’ stuff and regular events make sure we stop by often. Marmalade has long been the staple option for toddler folk but they now have competition – Benbino by the BIG Group has opened just across the walkway. It is designed purely for those looking for a child-friendly restaurant!

The play area is kitted with a slide, bean bags and a swing. There are high tables and stools right next to it, as well as a dining area for kids. According to the playground rules it is meant for kids between 3-8 years old. Our fast bunch of five-to-sevens created quite a racket in the small space though, so it is maybe best suited for the younger end of that range and even toddlers. The bean bags and blocks seem boring at first glance but are genius – they seemed to keep kids of all ages entertained.
There are also tables inside with air-conditioning. The menu, consisting of small dishes, takes a bit of navigating. The dishes seemed a bit small for the price but actually were rather filling in the end. Having said that, if you go with starving adults or kids with a very good appetite you may have to order more than one dish.

The kids food disappeared so quickly I hardly had time to look at it, not to mention take pictures.
Parents trying to keep kids of away from sugar, be warned! There is candy floss, caramel popcorn and a whole counter of sweets, cakes and cookies that looks like it’s from a story book. We loved not only the selection, but the fact that there are also small sweet treats like cake pops on offer.

I tried to go there few times and …decided not to . The play ground is disconnected from the eating area so you can’t watch your little ones. Ok you can sit outside but it’s like a zebra crossing zone zero privacy and not sure if it’s safe ? Sorry not a place for us ;(
I can see how with very young toddlers it would be tricky, especially on a busy day. I saw many parents squeezed into the play area to keep an eye on the little ones.
The decor looks attractive and it looks like a cozy and fun place for children and adults alike! 🙂
