Jay is Happy Go KL’s Chaimama.  She grew up in Taiping and Ipoh, lived in the UK and now calls KL home where she juggles being a mom, consultant and business-owner. As a working mama, she has her hands full juggling the businesses and the needs of her family. She loves the frantic pace but also enjoys all that the region has to offer, especially slowing down and travelling with children in tow.

Kirsi aka. Lattemama left behind the cooler Nordic climates six years ago, and her two kids have grown to think of KL as home and regularly end their sentences with “lah”. She loves a good coffee and a book but after juggling work and taxi duties often ends up with a glass of wine and a sitcom instead. She appreciates the generous public holidays of Malaysia and loves to use them for exploring the region with the family.

Hailing from New Zealand, Jilly landed in KL five years ago with her Dutch husband and their two energetic kids. Having lived in the Netherlands and the UK, she now calls Malaysia home – well, until her nomadic Dutchman says it’s time to move on. Coming from a lifetime in sales, marketing and communications the pace and grace of Happy Go KL allows her to talk and write at length about things she loves: family life, food, travel and all things outdoors. She also goes by Hoochiemama.

Occasional writer, researcher, and globetrotter, Cordelia splits her time between slow schooling her kids and wielding a can of mosquito spray as Brienne of Tarth does her sword. Cordelia’s eclectic and oftentimes regrettable past includes eco-innovation, sailing instruction, and restaurant cashier. And someday, her epitaph shall read: Here lies the greatest procrastinator who ever walked this earth. At Happy Go KL Cordelia writes as Multilingual mama.

Caroline was born and bred in a magnificent part of France called Provence. Formerly a secondary school teacher and trainer in the UK and Dubai,  she took her passion for photography to the next level after moving to Kuala Lumpur five years ago and launched her business – hence her nickname Photomama. Businesswoman, photographer and mama of two gorgeous girls, she enjoys the following things in no particular order: reading, wine, great food, traveling, exercising, family time, friends time, dancing, making crêpes and passion fruit.

Lauren, also known as Lolomama, has lived in eight cities and three continents since she was 18. Although she has traveled all over the world, South East Asia remains one of her favorite destinations. She loves writing about people, experiences and her dog. Before writing for Happy Go KL, she hosted a radio show out of San Francisco, California.

Sneha is a foodie and passionate about healthy eating and vegetarian cooking, hence goes by Healthymama. After 8 years of working in insurance, she decided it was time to do something different. In 2012, she started her journey across Asia from New Delhi to Kuala Lumpur. She started to bake and sell cupcakes and brownies, taught English to children from Myanmar  and joined the team at Happy Go KL. She is currently exploring and settling into Singapore.

Melinda, also known as Bubblymama, was born and raised in the Philippines and lived in The Hague, Netherlands before moving to KL. Writing has been a common thread throughout her professional career as a marketing executive and entrepreneur – she has also written restaurant reviews and feature articles for SunStar Daily in the Philippines and contributed for various expat websites in The Netherlands. In Malaysia, she penned an expat column, Accents, for The Star and has contributed to the Expatriate Lifestyle magazine. She is passionate about food, enjoys travel, scuba diving and a good bottle of bubbly and loves to snuggle up with a good read.

Born in London to a Spanish mother and British father, Anna grew up with a mix of languages home – hence the name Spanglish Mama. As a fresh-faced 20-year old she first tasted life overseas teaching English in Spain. Many moons later when her husband suggested a move to Shanghai, she said yes! Four countries, six cities, one husband, two children and thirty-something years later, her adventures in KL began in 2016. Anna considers her biggest challenge when on holiday coaxing her young children into any venue that has the word museum in the title. After many years in financial PR and marketing, she can’t wait to write about much more exciting topics than savings accounts!

Expat kid, expat career woman, expat mum, Ginny has lived all over the place. Tending to prefer heading ‘outstation’ to the city life, she is always on the look out for people doing interesting things… perhaps it’s her anthropology training or her background in CSR. A fervent lover of words, Ginny is now enabling people to get their stories out there and generally celebrate the positive around them – hence the nickname Funkymama!
